What's your M.O? w/ Ornella Grosz

What's your M.O?
I am passionate about financial literacy.
What do you do?
I am a Retirement Planner with the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia, a personal finance writer for Cotton Candy Magazine, author, and speaker
What inspired you to do what you do?
I was disapointed with the financial industry. If you did not have $250,000 to invest, you were not going to receive much financial advice. Generation Y alone has at least 70 million members. Someone had to begin to educate them on personal finance. I wanted to become their voice. My goal is educate, enrich, and empower Generation Y (and other Generations) that you have to take control of your personal finance because no one will be handing you money. It's a scary thought when you realize you have to create your own financial security.
What's the biggest obstacle you've faced on your journey?
When I am in the"zone", incredibly focused on my goal, I've learned to appreciate the challenges. They have amplified my creativity and intensified my passion for financial literacy. So, my biggest obstacle was overcoming "writers block."
What are your future plans?
Write more books. Continue to educate on financial literacy through speaking engagements, seminars, and workshops.
What advice do you have for youth that are trying to achieve their dreams?
Embrace adversity because it will give success its sweet taste! Without challenges/obstacles, success has no meaning. Whatever you do, don't make the mistake to retreat--change the path. And when you do achieve your dreams, you, too, will have a great story to tell!
